Schon als Kind habe ich mich in die wundervolle schwedische Natur verliebt. Ich wollte mein Verhältnis zu dieser Landschaft darstellen und suchte nach einem Text, der als Rahmen dienen sollte. „Die Sekte – Es gibt kein Entkommen“ von Mariette Lindstein beschreibt die Geschichte einer jungen Frau, verzaubert von einer fiktiven Nebelinsel an der Bohuslänküste Schwedens, die dort in die Fänge einer Sekte gerät. Das Buch endet mit ihrer Flucht von der Insel und thematisiert die Schwierigkeiten, die es mit sich bringt, eine Sekte zu verlassen. Einige meiner Bilder sind sehr stark an den Text angelehnt, andere bilden die typische Flora der Bohüslanküste ab.

As a child, I fell in love with the wonderful Swedish nature. I wanted to portray my relationship to this landscape and was looking for a text that would serve as a framework. “The Cult on Fog Island” by Mariette Lindstein describes the story of a young woman, enchanted by a fictional misty island on the Bohuslän coast of Sweden, who falls into the clutches of a sect there. The book ends with her fleeing the island and addresses the difficulties of leaving a cult. Some of my pictures are very closely based on the text, others depict the typical flora of the Bohuslän coast.
