Rühmkorfs Buch „Der Hüter des Misthaufens“ enthält satirische Kunstmärchen, die unterschiedliche Themen verhandeln. Das Märchen „Der Agent und die Elfe“ schildert den Konflikt des kleinen schottischen Städtchens „Houghindouble“, welche seinen Feenhügel gegen die Firma Central Electric verteidigt, die dort eine militärische Abwehrstation errichten will. Die Kombination von technokratischer Bausituation und den magischen Vorkommnissen gefiel mir. Vor dem Hintergrund der Proteste gegen die NATO-Nachrüstung in den frühen 80er-Jahren ist ein Bezug zur Realität deutlich erkennbar.

Rühmkorf's book “The Guardian of the Dung Heap” contains satirical fairy tales that deal with different topics. The fairy tale “The Agent and the Fairy” describes the conflict in the small Scottish town of “Houghindouble”, which defends its fairy hill against the company Central Electric, which wants to build a military defense station there. I liked the combination of the technocratic construction situation and the magical events. Against the background of the protests against the NATO Double-Track Decision in the early 1980s, a connection to reality is clearly visible.
