Bildergeschichte

Das Unheimliche ist eher in unbewohnten Landschaften als im bewohnten Raum. Diese Leere habe ich in den Bildern der Geschichte genutzt, es ist keine andere Person außerhalb des Protagonisten und seiner eingebildeten Ärzte und Krankenschwestern zu sehen, er ist allein mit seiner Psyche. Freud schreibt, „das Unheimliche sei jene Art des Schreckhaften, welche auf das Altbekannte, Längstvertraute zurückgeht.“ Für die Szenerie der Bildgeschichte habe ich Referenzen aus meinem Umfeld genutzt, das Gewächshaus und Arboretum der Kieler Universität und Gebäude aus meiner Nachbarschaft.

Picture Story

The uncanny is more likely to be found in uninhabited landscapes than in inhabited spaces. I used this emptiness in the images of the story, there is no other person to be seen outside of the protagonist and his imaginary doctors and nurses, he is alone with his psyche. Freud writes that “the uncanny is that type of frightening that goes back to the well-known and long-familiar.” For the scenery of the picture story, I used references from my environment, the greenhouse and arboretum at Kiel University and buildings from my neighborhood.
