Typografische Übersetzung einer Kantate, 26 x 35 cm

„Carmina Burana“ ist eine szenische Kantate aus dem 20. Jahrhundert von dem Komponisten Carl Orff und basiert auf einer Sammlung mittelalterlicher Texte. Ein großes Orchester sowie mehrere Chöre bringen den martialischen und archaischen Charakter der Musik zum Ausdruck. In dieser Abschlussarbeit wurde das gesamte Musikstück malerisch-typografisch übersetzt. Ich habe mich rein intuitiv von der Musik leiten lassen, sie ging in mein Ohr hinein, durch meinen Körper hindurch und schließlich über die Hände wieder hinaus. Durch unterschiedliche Materialien beim Farbauftrag wurden sowohl die leisen als auch die lauten Passagen auf insgesamt 152 Kompositionen wiedergegeben. Als Seitenzahlen dient der Zeitstrahl der Kantate.

"Carmina Burana" is a scenic cantata from the 20th century by composer Carl Orff, based on a collection of medieval texts. A large orchestra along with multiple choirs express the martial and archaic character of the music.
In this thesis, the entire musical piece was translated into a pictorial-typographic form. I intuitively let the music guide me; it entered my ear, passed through my body, and finally flowed out through my hands. Using different materials for color application, both the quiet and loud passages were represented in a total of 152 compositions. The page numbers correspond to the timeline of the cantata.
